We have multiple volunteer service opportunities that are compatible with your gifts, passions, and personal style. The following are Ministry Teams where you can use your gifts to be a blessing to others! For more information about each team, please contact us.

Prayer Ministry
We are dedicated to the ministry of prayer. We gather each Sunday evening for a time of congregational prayer at 6 PM. We also have a prayer team that receives prayer concerns each week via e-mail.

Care Ministry
We believe in demonstrating compassion to folks during various events that life can bring. Whether it is a birth of a child, a death of a loved one; or a long-term illness, the Care Team is available to assist people through encouragement, home visits; and meal preparation.

Children’s Ministry

Preschool and Children - Treasures from God….entrusted to us.

Youth Ministry
Youth connecting teens with God…GBC youth ministry exists to empower teens to LOVE God with all their capacity, to LOVE others, and to LOVE themselves.

Adult Ministries
GBC is a place to belong…a place to become…and a place to believe.

Men's Ministries
Promise Keepers - Promise Keepers is a Christ-centered organization dedicated to introducing men to Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord; and then helping them to grow as Christians. This is mainly accomplished through keeping the Seven Promises and our men's conference ministry. A group of Gayton men gather weekly to this end.

Men’s Moments - Men’s Moments is a weekly morning study of topics relevant to men who seek to follow Christ in all areas of life. Meets Tuesday morning 7-8am.

Men’s Breakfasts - The men of Gayton gather every other month for a hearty breakfast, great fellowship, and teaching from God’s Word. 

Women's Ministries 
First Choice First Choice is a group of women who are committed to the study of God’s Word. Whether you have been a Christian for years or are newly interested in what the Bible has to say to you personally, First Choice will provide a nurturing environment where you can delve into and explore God’s Word Each semester, we study various curricula by popular writers (ex. Beth Moore and Kathy Troccoli). Each woman purchases curriculum, containing lessons for completion during the week. On Tuesdays 9-11:30 am, we meet to discuss our lesson. First Choice is an interdenominational study, open to all women in the community, regardless of individual church affiliation.
Women’s Sunday School Class and Fellowship Ministers to women of all life circumstances. Meets every Sunday morning- 9:15-10:15am.
Community Bible Study is a systematic, in-depth study, which is open to all women. It is non-denominational, and Gayton is one of the host churches for the five CBS groups in Richmond. As class members study through a book of the Bible, the truth of God’s Word is reinforced in five specific ways: individual study (questions to be answered at home); small groups discussions led by a qualified leader; stimulating lectures; interesting commentary; and a loving, caring spirit that develops among class members as we study and apply God’s Word to and through our lives. Meets Thursdays 9-11:30

Agape Preschool

A God-centered Active Preschool Experience

Worship Arts Ministry
The purpose of the Worship Arts team is to facilitate the church in the worship of God through music, visual arts, live drama, media and other forms of artistic expression.

Facility Maintenance Team
The Facility Maintenance Team works diligently to handle all repairs and upgrades of our beautiful campus.

Fellowship Team
The Fellowship Team serves to provide an atmosphere of warmth and hospitality for our Wednesday night dinners and other special church events. This team provides a great opportunity for people to use skills such as: cooking, decorating, hosting, organizing, etc.

Deacon Ministry Team
The deacons of GBC joyfully serve to nurture the well-being of the church family through prayer, acts of service and being attentive to the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of individuals in a time of need.
